A year ago on December 3rd, I got back from The World Race, where I went to 11 countries in 11 months. I came from an atmosphere where we would go up to any person that we saw in need, and would talk to them and tell them about Jesus. For the last year since being home, I have looked away – away from the sign holder and the people that were clearly needy right in front of me. When people ask me how I am, I tell them that I’m bored. I don’t know how to fill my time and what I’m supposed to be doing.  So after a year of saying that I am bored, I decided to do something. I decided to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I decided I wanted to bless people and to get outside of myself. So, the other day, I made homemade banana bread and went to Starbucks and bought hot chocolate. I decided to go around to find the sign holders and warm them up with hot chocolate and banana bread. The first person I came to was a woman holding up a sign asking for money to buy her son, Christian, a Christmas present.  I gave her the hot chocolate and the banana bread and I drove away looking for other sign holders. But, I could not get that woman out of my heart and I knew that I needed to go back her.  I needed to find out her story. So I did.  I invited her into my car and I asked her about her story and what was her biggest need.  She was in a car accident a year ago and lost her leg. She keeps getting denied disability and she and her son live with her friend, Amy. Her son is 4 years old and has Aspergers syndrome and keeps her pretty busy. Her biggest need is for her son Christian to have a few Christmas presents under the tree. So as I dropped her off at the mall, we exchanged phone numbers. Yesterday, we were texting each other and I asked her if I could take her Christmas shopping next Saturday. She texted me back and said YES! She said, “I don’t know what to say to you because stuff like this doesn’t happen to me!”  And I said, “It does now!”  I sent her a ‘You’ve been gifted’ card. So, I have a date with Crystal to take her shopping. On Saturday I get to show her what Kingdom looks like! When I decided to get out of myself, and to see the people that God sees, He moved in a mighty way!  All glory belongs to God!
