PINCH ME! This is real life! WOW- I’m on THE WORLD
RACE!!!!!! I AM ON THE WORLD RACE!!!! I keep pinching myself- because is
doesn’t seem real to me still. But I am EXCITED!!!! Excited that this is
my real life. Excited that I get to spend the next 11 months with 6 AWESOME
teammates and that we get to experience this journey together. It will break
us
and it will change us and it will bring us closer
to our God!
My first experience in Guatemala was losing my
passport- LOL. I had left it on the plane. And I noticed it missing as soon as
a stepped off the plane. So I tried to walk back on and they said, sorry Miss
(It’s like everyone knows my name!) but you can’t go back on the plane. And I
was like my passport is on there- can I please go get it?? And He said, NO.
Where was your seat? I will go get it for you. I told Him 22B. So He went and
looked and He said, it wasn’t there. So I said a small little prayer- took a
deep breath and looked through my bag again and so did the two other girls
sitting next to me. NOTHING… So Hope my squad leader, Katie and myself decided
to get off the jet bridge and maybe see if someone from the squad picked it up
or something. We stepped off the bridge and the automatic doors close behind
us.
No one from the squad had it or picked it up.
I allowed discouragement to set in for a few minutes. It was just so
frustrating because I knew it was on the plane. Caitlin my other squad leader-
said I’m going to go try and get it- so she gets up to the closed door and it’s
not opening. So she walks over to me and said, Miss don’t worry about it, we
will take care of this.
The Lord started giving me peace again and
just kept praying- And Hope my squad leader says, I’m going to try and get it
for you- one more time. I just kept praying what she would be able to get on
the jet bridge and she gets to the door and do you know what happens???? THE
DOOR OPENS!!!! She said when she got to the door she prayed and they opened!
Then when she got back to the plane- she said, can you please just look one
more time for us?? And guess what??? They found it!!!!! Hope came running off
the jet bridge with it- like it was a gold medal! It was awesome! God is
awesome! I will guard that thing with my life for now on. It was such a
horrible feeling; I never want to feel that again. Thank God that we serve a
God- that ALWAYS has our backs!
This was the start to my World Race Journey
and I believe we always have a choice. We can allow something like this to
define us or we can look past it and move on. I chose to move on and PRAISE
GOD! And to be thankful!
World Race- real life- pinch! OUCH!!!! yeah
this is real life!!!!
