For those of you who have read/seen Heaven is for Real, you probably recognize where the title for today came from. It’s the one line that really stuck out for me and has stuck with me since. After I read the book (I haven’t made it to the movie yet), I began to see more of Jesus in the faces of all the children that I passed, and my heart wanted to reach out to each and every one of them.

This past Sunday, I started my “Sunday School Training”. I had been asked by one of our church members if I would like to start helping out with Sunday School about a month and a half ago, and while I could feel God telling me this was something I needed to do, I kept putting it off (quite honestly because I was scared [not sure why]). So this Sunday (Josie) asked me again if I would like to help out – and I’m so happy I did! I’d forgotten that sweet innocence children have – their quirky jokes, rather blunt observations, and the ability to instantly show love and kindness to new people. I was especially touched when one of the little girls (they had earned candy during a game) who had earned the least amount (and seemed a little disappointed about it) shared what little she had with some boys who didn’t have any (they had come in later.) I was just overwhelmed with the new love I had for all of my new little friends, and I was reminded again just why Jesus REALLY loves the little children. I know that as I teach them about Jesus and the Bible, I will be the one learning the most from them.
