Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! I am blessed to still have my mother around as I know quite a few people whose mothers have passed away. I may not get to see her and spend as much time as I’d like to with her, I do cherish the time we have together. Going on the World Race will create more space between us physically but I know that it is only temporary.

I have never physically given birth to a child but I have loved on many children during my lifetime thus far. I do hope to have the privilege of raising children when the time is right but that is all in the hands of God. I have spent a lot of time baby-sitting children: family friends, children at church, etc. I have been told many-a-times that I will make an excellent mother some day.

I have included a few pictures of myself and children that I got to love on while doing mission work in Haiti at an orphanage.

I care about people and children are no exception, even children that are not mine. In previous mission trips I was able to visit different orphanages and love on the children there. Children are innocent and pure. Children are generally unbiased about a lot of things unless the world ruins them. No child should be without a mother (and father). I was fortunate to grow up in a family with both a mother and father. It wasn’t a perfect life growing up but I think I had it pretty good. We may not have always said “I Love You” to each other a lot but I knew my parents loved me.

I get to have an impact on all whom I come in contact with. Often times we have the greatest impact on those we build relationships with. That is why family is so important to me. I chose the following song to highlight because the chorus serves as a great reminder that the choices I make today can have an impact on future generations. I desire for God to use me to make a difference in this world and help shape the next generation into God-fearing believers and world changers.

“Generations” by Sara Groves

I can taste the fruit of Eve
I’m aware of sickness, death and disease
The results of her choices are vast
Eve was the first but she wasn’t the last

And if I were honest with myself
Had I been standing at that tree
My mouth and my hands would be covered with fruit
Things I shouldn’t know and things I shouldn’t see

Chorus:
Remind me of this with every decision
Generations will reap what I sow
I can pass on a curse or a blessing
To those I will never know

She taught me to fear the serpent
I’m learning the fear myself
And all of the things I am capable of
In my search for wisdom, acceptance and wealth

And to say that the devil made me do it
Is a cop out and a lie
The devil can’t make me do anything
When I’m calling on Jesus Christ

(Chorus)

To my great, great, great grand daughter
Live in peace
To my great, great, great grand son
Live in peace
(repeat)
Live in peace, oh, live in peace

(Chorus)
Oh, remind me
(Chorus)
Oh, I may never know

Remember, there is always someone watching. We all need to be mindful of the choices that we make because whether we realize it or not, it will impact others either directly or indirectly. I could also quote the song by Casting Crowns called “Slow Fade,” but I will leave that for you to look up if you’d like.

I hope you all had a fabulous day and enjoyed reading my blog. As always, feel free to leave a comment and/or give suggestions as to what you’d like to hear me blog about as I am often at a loss of what to write about… at least right now.

Keep Lookin’ Up, Misha
