I've been trying to come up with creative ways that I can raise the funds I need. A lot of people I know are short on money so I'm not expecting to get any extravagant donations (and that's ok). So I started to come up with a list of things I can do that wouldn't cost them too much. Feel free to use them too!
Here's my list with reasons so far:
Garage Sale? Nope, live too far out no one will come, not much traffic goes out by my place either. Could do it at a friends house… they're all out of state / don't want to burden them, can't do it at the church (still trying to finish church)
Bake Sale? See reason above as to why I can't have it at a place. Could take orders online and then deliver to family and friends
Game night? Reason above + more than three people in a 400 square foot house = uncomfortable, and crowded
Sell Items Online? This could work, need to find things to sell… could sell some of the jewelry I make
Lead a hike to top of mountain behind my house? Can charge a cover charge and provide dinner, some may come out for this
Sell T-Shirts? This might work too, need to think of designs
Offer hand painted thank you cards in the languages of the countries I'm going to, when people donate? Could work, gotta start painting
Recycle plastic bottles, cans and steel scraps? Can do this, ask people to donate bottles, cans, steel scraps. Everyone has plastic bottles laying around their house and it helps the environment!
Put little give aways with my support letters? Could show them how interested I am in going, Design bookmarks with bible verses, flyer to show how to support me (flyer is done)
On a side note I had a dream last night that all the funds I and my team needed to go to training camp came in! I think God is telling me to quit stressing and just have complete faith that He will provide, because He will!
