Our ministry in Thailand has been a quite a bit different than any other country. All of the guys in the squad split off and did ministry together for the month. We moved around a lot and did a large variety of things.
We started out way up in the mountains at a little village doing a work project on a church that had recently been built. This village is located on top of a mountain in one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen. We stayed there for about 3-4 days and completed the painting on the church.  Our ministry contacts for the month were involved with a lot of churches in the northern part of Thailand, so we spent a lot of time traveling to different villages and checking in with the believers and spending time with them and worshiping with them. Also I felt like a large part of our ministry as guys this month was to minister to each other. There was a lot of time spent talking in the back of a pickup truck, and yes we did solve all the worlds’ problems☺. One favorite experience for the month was a soccer game we played with a bunch of local guys. We stayed for several days with a guy nicknamed V. He is involved with sports ministry in a lot of the schools in the area, so he volunteers his time coaching and spreads the gospel thru sports. He got a bunch of guys together one day and we had an awesome game of soccer, and that’s coming from a guy who doesn’t really like the sport. We played for about two hours, sweating and working hard along side these guys. When the game was done everyone gathered around and we shared where we’re from and what we’re doing, and we also shared the gospel. What I thought was cool about the experience was that these guys were about our age, and most were not Christian. If we would have just met these guys and started preaching at them I can guarantee they wouldn’t have listened. But after playing with them for a couple hours there was kind of a mutual respect that was gained among us, and they all listened very attentively.

This is the first village we stayed at and painted the church.

This is a jungle cave hike that we did. Yeah, it was amazing.
