We’ve been in Siem Reap for a few days now for debrief. As I
was thinking about the last month of ministry, all I could think of is that it
was real life stuff. We didn’t have a set ministry contact to work with, all we
had was a willingness to serve and God. We spent a lot of time with the people
I mentioned in my last blog, but we also did just a lot of random stuff. A few
days we went out in the city and just talked to different people that wanted to
talk. These times were very cool knowing that we didn’t have to try and make
any kind of performance. All we have to do is be ourselves, tell people why
were here, plant seeds, and let God do the work. We also spent a lot of time
with these kids at an orphanage that another team was working with. These days
were usually pretty crazy. They involved a lot of games and horsing around. One
day we visited a huge trash pile that is located in the middle of the city.
There is a whole group of people that basically live off of it. There homes are
either on or around it, and they pick thru the new trash every day looking for
things of value. The living conditions these people have is horrible. My
teammate Taryn Mast wrote a great blog about our experience there.

Now looking back, none of what we did
required me traveling to the other side of the world. There are lost and
hurting people everywhere. All you have to do is make a choice to help them.

Well like I said we have been in Siem Reap for a few days
basically just acting like tourists. There is a lot of cool stuff to see in
this area. Today we went to Angkorwat. This is a massive temple grounds that
was built around a thousand years ago. The entire place covers many square
miles, and there is a quite a few temples. Tomorrow we leave for Thailand and a
whole new set of adventures. We are going to change it up a little bit for this
next month. All the guys and girls are separating and going to different
ministries, so all the guys are heading to Chang Mi. I’m not exactly sure what
we will be doing, but I imagine that it will involve a lot of shirts off
grunting and sweating. At least I hope so:)

This is us with Pherom and Dara.

This is me eating some river fish. Actually not bad.
