Today I am sitting in my contact’s house in the Dominican Republic. It is one week from the end of month nine, which means I only have two more months on this Kingdom journey that God has sent me on. I wish I could be with you, right now sitting next to you and telling you these things face to face. I want to thank you with a sincerity that can only be expressed in person, but I can’t do that just yet. So I do it here. Thank You! Thank you for your support in my life and sending me as a worker for Christ. Thank you for your prayers, as they have been much needed on this journey and very much appreciated. Thank you for your financial support. Without you, heading the call of God to give and send me on this journey I would not be here. Thank you for your support and love.
I also want to give you an idea of what is next to come. I wrote a blog before I ever left for the race titled What Will You Do When You Get Back? I want to proudly tell you that the decision has been made and God has me on a path that excites me and it should excite you too.
I have been accepted to and will be attending Gordon College in Wenham, Ma. Gordon is a Christian college that was originally a school to train and send out missionaries. They converted to a Liberal Arts school in 1985. Gordon is in the top 9% of colleges and universities of Forbes magazine. And it is number four Christian college for Forbes. I will be studying to attain a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies. This degree will give me the training and theology I need to do the work God is calling me to.
The work I have been called to is full time ministry. God has called me to be a shepherd, a pastor. I will be taking on internships during college to learn from experienced pastors and elders how to operate in a church and work with the congregation.
So I want to thank you again. Thank You! Without your support I would not have the spiritual and mental growth I have had on this journey and I would not, so easily, have come to openness of this calling God has on my life. You have made this possible and you have loved on the least of these as you have supported me to go around the world and bring the kingdom of God forth.
I also want to give a primer to the next thing God has been telling me. I believe God has put a command on my heart to fund raise for college and really for the rest of my life. I believe that He has people prepared to support me in college and through my career in ministry. So I want to give you the first opportunity to read these words and pray. Please seek an answer from God and He will tell you if you are the one to support me. He will put a desire on your heart if you should continue to support my ministry. And I pray that when He does this thing that you would be obedient. Do not worry about where the money will come from. Do not worry about the bills that you have and the bills to come. Do not worry about your debt, food, housing, cars, job. Do NOT worry. Jesus tells this so many times and we do not listen because we want control. If God calls you to do something you are to do it and He will bless you. God will not let you go hungry. He will not curse you for your obedience. God will provide for you especially when you don’t see the “how”. This is when He and He alone can get the glory because it is not in our power or ability, but only in His divinity that something can be accomplished.
I want to share a passage with you that has been close to my heart since the first month of my race.
Philippians 4:4-7
“4Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS; Again I will say, rejoice!
5Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.
7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Thank you for your support and love. Thank you for answering the calling of God and being a sender of men and women of God to go out into the world and serve the least of these. Please continue to be a sender. I pray blessings over your life and your family. I hope to see you soon, so that I can embrace you and thank you personally.
