Month 7 Uganda is already here, and we are quickly approaching the end of the race. God has continued to be gracious, merciful, faithful, and loving. We arrived in Entebbe, Uganda on Dec. 30th after a crazy journey from Vietnam. Crazy Journey? No we did not take a bus lol, but we did almost miss our plane. As logistics I would be devastated if the whole group missed a plane, especially since we could not get a refund on our tickets (group pricing). Well God is always good, and we all boarded the plane in Ho Chi Min city after a huge misunderstanding about our visa requirements. Our first stop in Uganda was at a rafting resort for Debrief aka Christmas vacation.  Yes, we were able to raft the Nile along with baby Moses. After a Holy Spirit filled Debrief we traveled to 7 different parts of Uganda to spread His love.

Wow, I almost forgot we had some team changes at Debrief, and I’m happy to say that Michael Green is now a member of team furious love. Like I said God is good and the odds have become even for the guys, with three guys (Me, Justin, Michael) and three girls (Dee, Cass, Linds). For those who do not know this squad has tons of women compared to men. One would say that this is not bad which is true, but it is nice to have some man time.

Ministry this month is evangelism, awesome church services, hard work, and seeking the Fathers face. Our first day of ministry consisted of walking around the village praying for the elderly. Right out of the gate I witnessed the worst living conditions, and then was kicked out of the first house by an old lady stuck at a 90-degree angle. Yea, imaging this might be very entertaining, but believe me our hearts were breaking for this lady. As she yelled and pushed us out of the house I just wanted to show her the Father. Peter would say I have no gold or silver but I can give you Jesus. Please be praying for this lady to open up her heart to the Father. On the flip side we had the chance to pray for more than 30 people in the first couple of days. The name of Jesus is powerful, and I’m convinced that it has lost no power since the days of great healing. This was witnessed when a young woman was healed from neck and head pain. Its funny that just typing that sentence was odd for me. I mean most people can talk about the healings in the bible, but do we actually believe that they can happen?

Desperation, yep that’s theme for me this month. I’m tired of seeking after the Fathers hands in order to receive something for myself. I’m tired of trying to follow certain steps to get to a better place with Him. I’m tired of falling back into doubting the High priest that has brought me into the holy of holies. I’m just exhausted! Its time to seek His face! Believe, believe, believe, and prove His worthiness. Trust, trust, trust, and see mountains moved. Seek, seek, seek, and find the truest beauty. I want to be enthralled by His beauty. I want to stop thinking about my future and just follow Him. Do we believe He is that good? Do we believe in the unseen? Christians should be asking themselves this because we do not want to fall into a trap. A trap? Yes, a place where you become comfortable with Him being in this small box that you can control. He cannot be contained in a box. Jesus calls for us to leave the ordinary and to be ready for the struggles. I think David Platt said it perfectly; we need to stop preaching that being a Christian will bring wealth, security, and etc. On a trip to Indonesia Pastor Platt spoke with a woman in an underground church. This woman had been watching preachers from the USA on TV, and wondered if her faith was too weak because she has not received a lot of gifts. Too weak? She is in an underground church where she could get killed for her faith. Lets press in! Brothers and sisters, if we truly believe in the Father, then He deserves way more than we could give Him. Exactly, he deserves way more, but should we let that overwhelming fact keep us from giving Him the most attention? No way. Just like no matter how much we sin God’s love can still cover us. So does that mean we should just sin because it’s covered? Paul says “BY NO MEANS.” I want to continue after Christ because He is the most righteous, beautiful, sacred, and glorious God that I will forever worship. So why follow Jesus if you will just run into struggles, confusion, and etc.? Well, you will receive a treasure that exceeds any worldly thing, and this treasure can never be lost. That’s sounds good to me! Lord let me just sit by your feet with Mary and David so that I can gaze into your endless ocean of love!
