This is a common question for some believers and most non-believers. A divide that keeps God from being the bright light that He really is, and instead brings about a God that is ready to punish. Does God love? Yes!!!! He is love and that question is like asking, “does the sun provide heat?” Of course the sun provides heat because that is its main purpose. God is Love and He loves outrageously. Sadly sometimes I forget the magnitude of His love that can pierce through darkness and redefine the word unworthy. I’m unworthy but His love passes my unworthiness, and sinks my soul into an abyss of comfort.
There is a great documentary called “Furious Love,” and it’s all about Gods abounding love during every situation. The documentary goes into the darkest parts of the earth to show that nothing is too dark for His love. Scene after scene shows people possessed by demons, people worshiping darkness, healings, people seeking Christ, and people in suffering. All of these scenes have one thing in common and that one thing is the furious love of the Almighty. God is desperate to be with His people so that they can walk in a blanket of comfort.
His love is so obvious on the race! In India we worked with to very young translators that had an extreme love for Christ. In fact everyday that they worked with us they were supposed to be in school. One of the boys was 14 years old, and he showed me a video of the persecutions that they face for being Christians. The video contained graphic content showing Christians being beaten. They were being beaten only because of their beliefs! This instance took place only a short distance from where he was showing me the video. I was shocked and continued to ask him if he had ever been persecuted for his faith. He sadly said that some kids would beat him up at school but he would never stop talking about Christ. WHAT!! This is crazy in the world’s standards getting beat for something he can’t even see. But there is much beauty behind this because he will keep fighting for his Father even though struggles arise. The only explanation for why he would do this is because his Father has satisfied him with the richest love in the universe!!! Disciples in the bible happily received persecutions because God was being most glorified. I’m getting so pumped just writing this blog cause the Father is moving and His disciples are embracing His love. We say bring on the struggles for our God will satisfy us so much that persecutions will just excrete more of His love.
I just feel like writing this here so bear with me English majors because this structure is about to be altered. This world race is an environment change that brings about something unworldly in us that becomes thirsty for more of Him. We become like drug addicts seeking more and more and more of His love. We are desperate for miracles in which He can receive glory. We push past the normal church service begging for more and seeing his true face. Our bodies drop weight and become sick from the different environments but we continue to push. We stand up in front of crowds declaring His great name. We pray over Hindus, Buddhists, non-religious, and Christians having ultimate faith that God will show His love. We ride on top of busses, inside buses that contain three times the amount of people that are supposed to be inside, on motorcycles, and on planes for Gods glory. We also learn that this race is not ours but instead we are just vessels for Christ to move. Its obvious that we could not leave home for 11 months face all these conditions, struggles, and be successful without the strong arm of Christ holding onto us. This race does not give us any glory but we do receive an outrageous amount of his abounding love!!!!
WE BOAST IN OUR WEAKNESS BECAUSE WE ARE NOT WORLD RACERS BUT INSTEAD WE ARE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST AND WE KNOW THAT WEAKNESS BRINGS ABOUT HIS PERFECT POWER!!! DOES GOD LOVE? HAHA YES HIS LOVE IS AN OCEAN THAT HAS SWALLOWED ME AND IM HAPPY TO BE SUBMERGED!!!
