After another crazy travel day, which the word "day" is used liberally, we have made it to Malaysia.  Because we stayed an extra day past our departure date, we had to spend some time at the Immigration office.  Our bus driver didn't want to wait for us so he left us and we stayed in a nearby hotel.  I'm not in America anymore I suppose.  In typical world race fashion, us racers were able to find wifi quickly at McDonalds to figure things out and rest.  I got some great reading in, these last few days and am looking forward to more.

This month, Garrett (the other guy on my team) and I are living with the boys in the Rumah Shalom House which is a house for Sri Lankan Refugees.  We're living with the guys and the girls are living in the girls home.  We're working with a Pastor who is linked with the Emergent Church in the states (he has a wonderful library I'm hoping to get to look through this month, for all my fellow Theo-Nerds).

I'm not exactly sure what ministry is going to look like this month (when am I ever :)).  However, I'm really looking forward to learning these amazing stories and to join in the Kingdom work of redemption here.  The boys are really well behaved, just with the an incredible amount of energy.  They're so studious too; I wish I had that vigor for knowledge when I was their age.

Since my last blog post, I have read Brian Zahnd's "Beauty Will Save the World", "Letters to a Future Church", Marcus Borg's "Evolution of the Word:  The New Testament in the Order the Books Were Written", Shane Claiborne and Tony Camolo's "Red Letter Revolution"Holy Simplicity: The Little Way of Mother Teresa, Dorothy Day, and Therese of Lisieux;  Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove's "New Monasticism: What It Has to Say to Today's Church" and Brian McLaren and Tony Campolo's "Adventures in Missing the Point".

Feel free to check those out.  I highly recommend Brian Zahnd's "Beauty Will Save the World", it's the best book I've read in quite some time.

In other news, I have much to rejoice about!!!!

Papa has proved himself faithful once again!

I have reached the 3 month deadline!!!!!

Praise the Lord!  I now have only one more deadline, which is due January 1st and I am $4422 away from it.  Thank you so much for your prayers and support and for the work that you are doing where you are.  I pray that you are filled with the love of Christ and that you're filled with the fruits of the Spirit.

I've been meditating much on Matthew 5-7; John 17; and 1 John 3 & 4.  Maybe spend some time and just allow these words to wash over you!

Love,

Michael
