Appalachia has beckoned me back once more.

This will be my 5th time leading a short term trip to Appalachia with Adventures and hopefully not my last. I love driving up to duffield, VA, visiting with Pastor Bo and his wife, and watching the fireflies at night. Each week trip brings in a whole new bunch of faces, from many places and a chance for everyone involved to go beyond what they know and see.
God always shows up, plans always change at least once, new friends are made and old friendships deepened.
I am thankful for these chances to go. To go deeper with the Lord, to go back to a place I love, to go away from my normal.
To go.
No longer is it, so I go. No longer am I making the life altering choice to leave my life in California and go on the World Race.
Many life altering choices have been made since the great uprooting, but often now the changes are not my own ideas, they are the Lords and I choose to go with Him.
I know the Lord was there with me when I made the choice to go and I know the Holy Spirit had stirred that up in me. But I also know that I did not actually consult the Lord when deciding to go on the race. I simply went. I. Me.
Know I just want to go where ever He is. I want to be where He is moving and His presence is heavy.
Fortunately and unfortunately God is, well God and He can be everywhere, meaning there is a choice on my part of which place to go to.

For now this means I get to be here in Duffield, VA for a week, drive back to Georgia for a few months and then its off for World Race round 2 for 5 months of Squad Leading!
I had no idea what God had in store for me when I left for the race, but I sure am thankful for where I am. There have been bumps, jumps and full on wipeouts along the way, and I am sure more to come, but that’s ok because it makes the mountain tops, skipping and soaring totally worth it.
Thank you for following me on this journey, I hope you stick around for it has only just begun.
