“Growing up” has always been something that i thought would be an easy transition. But as i get closer and closer to graduation iv come to terms with the fact that becoming an adult is not an easy task. Its exciting and thrilling to be able to choose your path, step out beyond the comfort zone and the day to day schedule of going to elementary and high school. To be able to choose and do something your passionate about. But iv also come to terms with how scary and frighting it is. There is no class to teach us how to become an adult. you go from being in high school to the next day being thrown out into the real world. So we find ourselves three months into grade 12 year, sitting at a computer looking at ALL the possibilities of post secondary, jobs, or a gap year of traveling, volunteering, serving god, or for some just taking time off to figure out where their being called to go.

About two months ago i was in that exact position. Thats when i stumbled across this program called ” The world race” through a non-profit christian organization called adventures in missions. They have a few different programs but the one i chose to apply for is a nine month mission trip. you go to three different countries around the world and live in each for three months. you will be traveling with a group of people who not only are passionate about traveling and making a difference in the world, but creating a relationship with god and with each other. While your in the countries you will be put in various different places doing different jobs such as: construction, athletics, orphanages, evangelism, worship etc… your placed in places where your strongest gifts will be highlighted and will be of great help to those around. In short its a year of your life given back to god, and giving to others all while learning about your self and growing your relationship with other people as well as Jesus Christ.

Its been one month since iv been accepted into the program. I will be going to Thailand, Africa and Guatemala. I have a massive and very nerve racking goal of fundraising $14,000 before i leave October of 2016. It seems next to impossible but i know and have faith that god will provide. My life is completely in his hands. I will be doing lots of fundraisers and lots of praying between now and the day of departure.

If you would like to support me there is a “support me” link on my blog also i can accept checks and cash as well. (P.S since i am Canadian for all my fellow Canadian friends and family the Money donated on there is in american dollar as i am participating in an american organization)
