Hello to whomever it may concern, but my name is Miguel Godinez, and apparently I have been accepted to do a year long mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. For those of you who don’t know me, well, this is the perfect place to come and read up a little bit about the life of this person named Miguel.
I grew up in a very small town named Delano which is located in the beautiful state of California. I wasn’t born there, but I’ve basically lived there my whole life. Delano is a town that is surrounded by acres and acres of vineyards, almond trees, Orange trees, Pistachio trees and so much more.
I am one child of five, I have two older brothers and two younger sisters, and we have all lived as PK’s our entire lives. For those of you who may not know the term “PK”, it’s just short for Pastor’s Kid.
I am of the age of 21, but will soon turn 22 in November, Lord willing. Never in my life did I think that I was going to leave this beautiful state nevertheless this country, but in the year of 2013 God had very different plans for my life. I have attended Oral Roberts University for about three years, which is located in Tulsa Oklahoma, and I’ve been to four different countries in those three years. All of course were mission trips.
In these past four years I have learned so much from my friends which I now call family, as well as from my professors, and the people that I have encountered on my mission trips. If there is one thing that I for sure know that I have learned in these past years, is that I know nothing at all. Even when I begin to think that I know, I am quickly reminded that I don’t.
Since the age of 15 my dad began to give me the opportunity to share the word of God with the church congregation. Since then, I have been preaching wherever I am given the opportunity to do so.
Here at my church I help out with the worship, as well as with the youth ministry. My eldest brother and I teach the youth, which by default makes us the youth pastors, and on Sunday’s I teach the younger kids. It hasn’t been easy, but it is much worth it.
I love to play and watch every type of sport even if I myself may not be good at it. I love music as well, and everything that is artistic and creative, even though I myself may not be good at it. haha
