I spent this last weekend with 5 other racers in the Mountian villages of the Andes. I went as a tourist just wanting to see something new but the Lord had so much more for us.

We spent our time on the old stomping grounds of World Race 2007. We had the oppertunity to worship and fellowship with two different churches. One in Musho and one in Utupampa. We were also blessed to meet some full time American missionaries who tought us about the community and culture in the high lands and we learned about the Amazon jungle which is were we are headed next.

The American Missionaries have started a discipleship training program for 9 men from the Amazon Jungle. For most of them it’s the first time that they have been out ofo the villages that they grew up in. They are studying hard everyday so they can go back to their villages and share the love of Christ with the people of the Amazon. The Men for the jungle have such a passion for Jesus. All of them shared with us that their prayer is to suffer for Jesus. It was so encouraging to hear someone say that they want to suffer for the glory of the Lord. Honestly I don’t know if my American self is ready to pray such dangerous prayers.

It was so encouraging to be around people who are walking with the Lord like I would like to be. Just being able to worship and fellowship with the warm hearted people in the Andes was so refreshing. They all welcomed us with open arms and hearts. It was just what I needed to be able to finish out our time here in Chincha. Ministering to people in the midst of disaster is really hard and it’s been taking a lot out of me. The Lord knew just what I needed.

Please pray for the last 10 days that we have in Chincha.
