OK I guess I will start with the basics… I was born in
Denver
CO and I grew up mostly in
Laramie WY
. I went to high school in
Winnipeg
Manitoba
Canada and I am currently in
Bend
OR. I have lived in
Bend for 7 years and I love it! It is the most beautiful place I have ever been. In 15 minutes I can drive to a lake, river or waterfall and go hiking to my favorite place to be the Lord. I love to be outside and go hiking and camping.
Some of my favorite things to do also include eating out with friends, going on walks with friends, going spelunking, having a cup of coffee with a friend(s). I love my friends so pretty much anything that you can do with all the wonderful people that the Lord has placed in my life is something I love
.
I am also really close with my family. I have two little sisters; Lindsay is 23 and Allison is18. My mom Alice and my dad Lee and my three dogs; Tucker (Labrador), Bagels (beagle), and Rylie (
Chihuahua mix). Together we are the Thompson Gang. We are always there for each other and we always make each other laugh. The hardest thing about going on the World Race is being away from my family.
I am 25 years old and I have been a Christian for 10 years. I Asked the Lord to come into my heart when I was 15 after going to church with my best friend Monique for several years. The Lord has given me a passion for high school age girls in
America and women of all ages around the world. The Lord told me 2 years ago that I would come to a fork in the road of life and I would have to choose between what I do now (general manager of a coffee shop) or leaving behind everything I have ever known for missions. He made it clear that it was my choice and he would bless me either way but the path he wanted for my life was missions and He told me it was going to be harder than the one of a retail manager but much more fruitful. That is the word of the Lord that brought me here today.
