11. 11. 11

Most of you may already know the story of 11:11.

My phone would light up at 11:11 for 2 years straight. Thought it was a glitch in my cell phone until I got a new phone and it did the same exact thing. I started seeing it everywhere and thought I was taking crazy pills. I started to pray about it. I told my family about it- my sis thought 11/11/11 would my wedding date.. until I stumbled upon the World Race and 11 countries and 11 months caught my eye. Funny how the Lord uses things like numbers to get my attention.

So, I was kinda excited about 11/11/11 to see if anything magical would happen. AND believe it or not I had a huge surprise waiting for me on 11/11/11.  Nope..not a wedding.. sorry deeg…even better!

My family and friends had set up a “pray around the clock for meesh.” My inbox was flooded with love and encouraging emails. My dad set his alarm clock at 5am to get on his knees and pray for me because that was the time my sister gave him. I was told people were doubling up on time slots and even taking the wee hours of the night just to lift me up in prayer. Some of my friends even had an 11/11 party and had a skype date with me.

I cried.                       I laughed.                     So blessed.                      So thankful.

So very thankful for my family and friends.

So thankful the Lord knows me so well. He knows what I need- when I need it. He knew I needed your prayers, emails, skype dates, fb comments… on that specific day. I felt the love worlds apart and it MADE my day, week, MONTH!

I can’t say this enough. God has blessed me with the best parents, siblings, neice and nephew, cousins and friends! I really don’t think I would be able to do what I’m doing without the support and prayers from you.

So this Thanksgiving- I’m thankful for you. I’m thankful you are in my life. I’m thankful that even being worlds apart it can’t separate the friendships and love.

I truly miss you all so much and there are days where I wish “oh what I would do for one day back home to have a few coffee dates & eat my momma’s homemade cooking & hear my dad play the accordion & take gracee to yoforia & walk around the greenway & see my sweet levi run around the park because he is now 1! & worship at central church & have a ridiculous game night & make peanut butter popcorn and have late night cereal parties with deegie and jb & run at beatties park & go to janie’s cycle class & maybe I would need 2 days…”

So THANKFUL.

And I’m thankful that I’m in AFRICA on this Thanksgiving.

I love you. Praying for you. Miss you.

And please, please, please… eat lots of turkey and pumpkin pie for me and wear your biggest sweatpants 🙂

xoxo,
meesh
