I’m in ROMANiA!

I’m officially on month 2 of the World Race!

Let me start off by saying it was a wild 48 hour adventure getting here…

From camping out at McDonald's

to hopping on a 14 hour sweaty mess train ride to arrive to our destination- Oradea, Romania!

We are at Caminul Felix Ministry and loving it here so far! The second we pulled in we felt the love. These past couple days have been so rejuvenating and refreshing.

I’m in a state of thankfulness. Moldova was a great month but really hard and challenging.  The spiritual unrest, striving and darkness was tiring and exhausting. I didn’t realize how much it affected me until I left. But I needed month one to make me really appreciate the little things like…

couches, showers, toilets, coffee pots, sitting on grass under a tree, making our own food and not eating mush for every meal, toasters, skyping with gracee my niece..

We've been able to rest these past couple days before jumping into ministry.

Chilling in our back yard, sleeping, running, watching the sun rise, praying, chatting with my momma, reading, spending QT with my team and making ridiculous music videos.

I’ve been able to process last month- the things I will miss in Moldova- what the Lord started in me- breaking my heart- showing me how to see Jesus through the messes- the beauty of interruptions and things not going as planned- loving people where they are at- weeping, laughing, dancing with them-seeking more of His power- realizing how I’ve grown- and areas the Lord wants to prune and see more fruit and more growth in me.

I’m really excited for month 2! I’m thankful to be working with this ministry and learn more about it.
This orphanage is like none I’ve ever seen. It’s not your typical musty, overcrowded, institution of the abandoned with cold cement floor and a large mess hall. It’s the opposite- it’s family. A community of life & hope where the love of Jesus abounds.

Caminul Felix has 2 villages, 16 homes and around 12 children in each family.

The first half of the day we will be doing construction and the second half we will be spending time with families and kids.

We met our first family today. This is the home of Dema and Monica.

I adore them already. Love & beauty all around.

I heard Monica's story through her broken English.

God called them out of their home in Russia to be a mother and father to the fatherless in Romania.
Her daughter Yana wanted a brother and sister so bad. She begged and pleaded with God. He answered her prayers 4 years ago and now has 13 siblings, 12 of them once abandoned children who now have more love than they would have had otherwise.

These children get to grow up in a home of life and hope.

They not only get to experience the love of earthly parents but also the love of a heavenly Father.

They have the chance to be a child- play on a swing set, jump on a trampoline, ride bikes with their brothers, and eat a meal around a dinner table.

this is what an orphanage should look like.
this is family.
this is caring for the least of these.
