The True Little Story of 11:11
By: Michelle Soroka
Scene 1:
December 1, 2010
[At work, sitting behind my computer in my spacious cubicle. Conversation with God.]
Michelle: 11:11! Ok God, are you trying to tell me something? For the past 2 years my phone lights up at 11:11 every. single. day. I thought my phone was just crazy until I got a new one. And yep. Same thing. every. single. day. 11:11.
God:
Michelle: mmmmk… you’re gonna have to help a sister out. Will you just tell me if this means something?
God:
Michelle: Fine, I’ll just start praying about it. Everyday, when the clock strikes 11:11 I’ll start praying and you’ll show me.
Scene 2:
December 28, 2010
[Lounging in the living room with sister Diane and brother John in Pleasantville neighborhood]
Michelle: (sitting on the couch turns around to check the time) Of course it’s 11:11pm. Seriously, I think I’m going crazy guys. I see 11:11 every single day, every where I go.
John: You’re weird.
Diane: I GOT IT! 11/11/11! Michelle, the day you're gonna get MARRIED! Check to see what day it lands on!?
Michelle: You are really dumb… and it’s a Friday.
Scene 3:
December 29, 2010
[6:00pm- catching up with a friend at TCBY frozen yogurt]
Michelle: I’ve been doing well! Loving my job, loving my roomies, enjoying life… but I feel like the Lord is stirring me and preparing me for something in 2011. I can’t quiet figure it out. But I’m asking the Lord to show me.
Friend: Hey, have you ever checked out The World Race?
Michelle: Ya know, a few people have emailed me telling me that I should do it, but I’ve never really looked into it.. I’ll have to check it out.
[9:00pm- back at Pleasantville hanging out with family]
Michelle: (on the laptop just googled www.theworldrace.org) Mom! Diane! John! 11 11! 11 countries, 11 months!! (sweating, heart beating outside of chest, tears welling up)
After much prayer, Michelle kept hearing the Lord say, “Go.” Even though she said, “Ok God, but if you say stay I will stay.” The Lord made it very clear to Go.
The End. Well, actually the beginning…
