We are officially halfway done with the Race. In these five and a half months, we’ve seen so much; we’ve met so many people. Each leaving a lasting impression. Each creating a story. Each just as important as the last. So many stories. All the stories I could share with you. If I could borrow six months of your time, maybe I could tell them all to you. But the truth is, even if I did, I could never do them justice. There is a gap between the words on this paper and what is happening outside my window. And I don’t know how to bridge that gap. I can’t bring you here with my words and no matter how well I tell a story, I can’t bring here to you. There’s a reality that happens that I can’t describe. I can’t let you hear the never ending sound of car horns. I can’t wake you up at 2 am with monks chanting for the dead. I can’t make you say goodbye to new friends every single month. I can’t let you smell the indescribable stench that covers entire villages. I can’t make you feel intense sadness as you let a street child, with not one ounce of clothing, out of your arms to crawl back into a tree that he calls his bed. I can’t. I don’t know how.
This is where the problem lies for me. I want you to know how drastically you are changing lives and hearts all over the world. I need you to know that. But there are far too many stories. And each of these stories are YOUR stories and you deserve to hear them all. In the past six months, you have fed the hungry, you have clothed the naked, and you have healed the sick. By donating to my World Race, you have done all of these things and so much more. You have changed the lives of orphans and street kids in India, Nepal, Cambodia, and Vietnam. You have impacted sex trafficking victims and prostitutes in Thailand and Nepal. You’ve made a difference to college students, special needs children, elderly, and persecuted believers in six different countries. You’ve blessed approximately 20 different ministries in Asia. And you have played a huge part in shaping who I am today. I cannot stress to you enough the importance of what you have done.  The list could go on and on. All I have to offer you is my gratitude. I humbly extend to you my thankfulness, not only for myself but for every single person that you have helped. Thank you for caring for my friends in India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Thank you for counting each person in Asia as important to you. Thank you for helping to share the Gospel with strangers that are now your brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for giving generously and with glad hearts. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for trusting the Lord and taking steps of faith.
Please believe me when I say that nothing that has happened in the last six months would be possible without you. Know that I pray often for you and for the journey the Lord has you on.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I would love for you to put a few faces with the people that you are impacting in Asia. Know that each and every one of these people have been touched by you, your generosity, and your response to the Lord. Know that are hundreds more not pictured that have been immeasurably blessed by you. I speak for them all when I say thank you.
