Hey…I’m Michelle.Child of the Most High God.Umm…What can I say?
I’m thirty-one.I’m a makeup artist.I love adventure and travel.I was born in Honduras, Central America. I’ve lived in the States since I was four. I love Chicago. I particularly enjoy coming home to the lit-up runway at O’hare airport at the end of a journey. The Chicago skyline just seems to open up and say, “Welcome home, baby girl”. Aww.
I’ve been thinking a lot about God and how He’s so purposeful.I remember in middle school and high school wanting to learn about other cultures. In middle school we spent a season learning about communism and Russia and that prompted my fascination with that culture and ultimate time spent there.I remember reading Siddhartha and going to Buddhist and Hindu temples. We read Chinua Achebe’s
Things Fall Apart . I remember feeling so blown away by other cultures, their practices, the manner in which they perceive life…
I know that the Creator has placed this God-sized vision in me;This hunger to know and understand others and to pour love on them is not something that I would have come up with on my own. I ache with the desire to be a voice for those who haven’t one. I want to fightfor social justice. I give all honor to the ultimate Dream Giver: He’s theOne who awakens and refreshes these yearnings in me daily. He rocks my world, yo.
Am I super excited about this trip? YEAH. A little bit. I can hardly wait to continue to walk indestiny.
