Ten things I learned while working camp in the Ukraine…
1. 1. Ukrainians really like their soup
2. 2. If you forget a boy’s name odds are its Sasha
3. 3. Living in a giant sandbox isn’t as glorious as
it sounded when I was five
4. 4. You can fall in love with children even if you don’t
speak the same language
5. 5. Teasing and funny faces are universally fun
6. 6.Grace is a beautiful thing to receive and hard
to give. Praise God for His grace for me and for growing it within me
7. 7. You can only play in the pond until the cows
come home…literally!
8. 8. Don’t wear a skirt if you are doing a trust fall…it
may come completely off
9. 9. God is always good
10. 10. Living in community can be hard…but AWESOME! I
love my team!
This month was good! Our team learned a lot and grew closer
together. Of course not everyday was a picnic…but then again we had actual
picnics some days. This past week we worked with village children. They were precious.
It was awesome how you would find ways to connect with children that you could
not verbally communicate with. We would play games, throw a Frisbee, go
swimming, make crafts, and sit with them in bible study. My favorite way to
connect was to draw in the sand! Created a pretty cool village mural with my
little friend Julia.
Now I am in Romania with my whole squad! We have a few days
together for fellowship and worship together!
Tomorrow I will head to my next location a little north of here! Here
are some pictures of this past month! You can find more on my facebook!
