I have officially begun Month #5 on the World Race, which has looked a bit different from most squaDs. Instead of traveling and beginning ministry in Swaziland, my squad is still in South Africa. We are in the process of obtaining our India visas, which has proven to be a struggle for us. Anyway, our passports are tied up at the India embassy in Joburg, South Africa to have our paperwork processed to get our visas. This means we can’t travel to our next country and arE staying put in South Africa until our paperwork and India visas go through. Among all the frustration and many hours at the Old Vic Hostel, the Lord has proVided much rest and time to check my heart. Checking my heart has involved making sure it Is ready for whatever may be next for me on my journey. Truly seeing the desire of my heart to travel to each couNtry on my route.

Our time is spent in Nelspruit these days in the north and this was the location of debrief. I came into this debrief knowing there were changes a brewing and time to raise new squad leaders. This means team changes and mixing up what has become comfortable for the first 4 months of the Race. After a few days of debriefing with our leadership team and much prayer, we finally heard the news of the new squad leaders and teams. I am so happy to share with you the new squad leaders for Q squad is Mary Timeaus, Katie Stoddard, and Patrick Doty! These 3 individuals have each been team leaders the first 4 months and they have all demonstrated how to be selfless to serve my squad.

What does this mean for me… I am now on a whole new team. For the next season of the Race I will be serving alongside 5 women whom I have yet to serve with on a team. My team is new but I am so ready for this new season and to see what the Lord has for each of us. Our name is Team Leo, this means Lion in Latin, which means we are bold, fearless, proud, loud, confident in sharing the love of Christ. I am not sure what life and community will look like with these women but I know God is ready to use us for His Kingdom. As I enter this nEw season I pray readiness and a new armor for myself to enter this team as the new person I have become over the past 4 months. To apply what I have learned about myself to better the Kingdom and what I bring to mY team.

It is time to make a move and begin doing ministry with this local community here in Nelspruit. So Saturday morning we will be packing up to head to a local church to stay on their property and help our in their ministries. We will be staying at the church’s campground and TENTING! This location was found after a squad mate did some research to find this church. Our accommodations will be free and allow us to truly get our hands into this local community to its people here.

Thanks for your continual love, support, prayers and all the ways you have made this journey possible.
