Last night 12 World Racers had the opportunity to be the Body of Christ to a local man who is serving His country as a policeman. His mother came to visit with the owners of the hostel where we are staying and little did we know how our night would turn out. We had planned a night to have dinner with our contact and his lovely fiancé, to be followed by a time of worship. I’m not really sure how things happened but this gentleman ended up coming to our time to worship and fellowshipping with us. Briefly we were told what had happened and that he would be joining us for worship. Immediately our squad leader Suzanne stepped up to share what a divine appointment this was and this would be an opportunity to be the Body of Christ to this man.

After about 30 minutes he showed up and we began our evening of worshipping. The first hour was everyone worshipping, praying over our brother, words from the Lord and encouragement for him. Basically this was a time to pour ourselves into him and to allow God to use us to empower him. Among this time were many tears, heartache, confusion, many emotions, and most importantly the presence of the Lord. Finally after about an hour, he opened up to share with us what had happened to him yesterday. He was with a group of officers raiding a group of 4 shacks. Things happened and next thing he knew 2 officers had been shot, that were later declared dead. Among the chaos and craziness our brother had to make a decision; to allow the suspect to get away or shot him. Nothing could have prepared him for this moment and shortly after the suspect was declared dead. He opened his heart to a room full of strangers, allowing us to hear his story and become apart of it.

I know my brother knows God and is very familiar with the Bible. This is due to him being raised in church his whole life but I cannot sit here and tell you what is on his heart. I don’t have the job of judgment, this is God’s job and I have no desire to be in this kind of business. All I know is I am praying and lifting up my brother, along with all who were effected by this event. My biggest prayer is for my brother to have a personal relationship with Christ and walk with Him daily. For him to understand Christ only desires our hearts and for us to give Him everyday to Glorify Him in all we do.
