Garden Tomb in Jerusalem
I had Friday off due to observance of Good Friday and it was much needed. I was able to sleep in, have lunch with dear friends, got my hair cut, and attended Secret Church. Secret Church was the beginning of my Easter weekend celebration of our Savior. David Platt, who wrote Radical, is a young minister radically on fire for reaching the world for Christ. The topic was Heaven, Hell, and The end of time. We had a 200-page workbook that we worked through from 7pm to 2am. I was educated on many unfamiliar passages regarding this topic. This was my second year attending Secret Church and both times have been very eye opening. The Lord is using David Platt in great ways and making this world a better place.
Saturday was a day full of friends and laughs! I began the day by sleeping in till 12:30pm and then attended a baby shower at church. That evening I went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory to celebrate friends’ birthdays. The Lord has blessed me with such an amazing community here in Matthews/Charlotte and the reality of the World Race has really hit me that last couple of weeks. Training camp is a month and a half away and I launch in 3 months. I ask for your prayers, as the enemy is beginning to speak lies into my mind, such as: can I really do this, leave all I know for one year, and the individual strength to do the World Race. I recognize that these are lies and knowing they are untrue.
Sunday was a great celebration of my Risen Savior. I woke at 5:45am to attend Sunrise at Idlewild Baptist, shepherd group at 9am, service at 10:30am and then lunch/afternoon at my dads to celebrate Easter with my family (and my sister’s birthday). It was a wonderful day but I ate so much. Church was great and included commissioning of a team to LA this week; for a missions trip to work among a Spanish community. I was able to pray over this team, speak life into them, and use my gift of boldness in sending them off. It was great to spend the afternoon with the McPherson’s! We ate, laughed, hid Easter eggs, ate some more, had lots of candy, ate again, and spent some much needed time together.
I have a bake sale coming up on Sunday April 21, at First Baptist Matthews and selling my t-shirts as well. Please pray for preparation and getting the word out about the sale.
