Friday we did our ministry day at the train tracks. The boys that we help out with Monday through Thursday all live down on the train tracks. If they are not at the center then they are down by the train station either trying to sell plastic bottles to get a couple of rupees to buy a ticket for the train to sleep or have somewhere to go, otherwise some of them come to the center. It’s a place where they get to go and be young and be kids, where they don’t have to worry about anything but just being them. Some of these children have come from a Muslim background.
One of the staff members told me a story about them and it brought tears of joy to my face when hearing.
She said that they had a weekend camp trip and the boys were all fighting and on drugs and just out of control, but the staff felt the Lord wanted them to start praying for the boys and so they did and she said it was awesome to watch because the children had tears rolling down there face and said something changed in their hearts they felt the presence of the Lord. The children have been much behaved since that incident. That whole weekend they were not doing drugs or anything. Praise God!!!! These are the children that are going to lift up the nations.
This week I have had so much fun playing and help take care of this little boys and it has been pure joy. These boys all come from bad backgrounds anywhere from their mothers remarrying and the new husbands not wanting the children and kicking them out to the parents beating the children. The children range from different ages as young as my little brother which is eight. They all have different stories and different wounds, but these children are a pure joy to me and to this staff. I have not been ministering there for too long, but I love it! I love walking in and seeing their faces light up and smile.
Psalm 18 is what the Lord gave me the other morning and when I saw the children I the word “delighted” kept coming up and the Lord delights in these children.
Psalms 18: 16-19
He reached down from on high and took hold of me; e drew me out of deep waters. H rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day for my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
