Samaritana is a Christian based place that helps women that are on the streets working as prostitutes for a living and trying to support their whole family. The volunteers at Samaritana help the women with everyday life skills and help them to find something they like to do without working the streets. There have been so many amazing women of God that have been brought out of the dark and put into God’s light from this program. God gave me the book of Hosea for these women. I was not for certain our team was going to be working with these women, but the Lord gave me this book so deep down in my heart I just knew that He was going to open the door for us to minister to these wonderful ladies. The first time reading that book I thought to myself why would God call Hosea to have a wife as a prostitute? But after asking that God revealed it to me later in the book and it hit me hard why, and why He gave me this book for them. God seems so angry at the beginning of Hosea, but if you sit and be still and listen to Him through this book not only does he reveal His heart for these lost people but he reveals His love for them and how much he wants us to thirst for Him or after Him. Our God is such a kind loving God that wants only the best for us. He is our protector and he guides us on the straight paths.

Yesterday three of us went on home visits to visit some previous women that have been on the streets and it gave me a wonderful time to talk to one of the women that use to work on the streets and find out more about her story. God really wanted me to press in so I did. God wants me to start being bold being out here. Something just hit me as I’m typing this blog right now. Me being bold at home and asking for support money for this trip has helped me with being bold and asking questions overseas. Praise the Lord!!! God used this opportunity to talk to aunty Vilma and find out her story and why she had to be on the streets and to let her know that God loves her and that He is impressed with her. I also told her about the book of Hosea and explained to her that sometimes we all get in that spot in our lives where we are at our lowest point in our lives and don’t know what to do and that’s why God sometimes gets us in the desert and we just thirst for Him.
