We are officially past the halfway mark of our 3 weeks of children’s camps!
Camp ended at Refilwe last week and we moved about 30 minutes to our new home (for awhile) – Alabanza.
This week we are again leading a children’s camp at a school in Pretoria.
Since I was with the Preschoolers last week, I decided to try something different for this new week of camp.
Alas, I have had the privilege of serving with the Rec Crew (for you “non-camp” people, that’s Recreation Crew).
What does this consist of, you ask?
Well, our normal day looks a little like this:
7:30 am – Breakfast
8:00 am – Leave for Pretoria
8:30ish to 9:30ish – Greet kids/Drink hot chocolate
9:30 – Opening Celebration!
10:00ish to 11:25ish – Rec Leaders gather and play games for about an hour and a half together!
11:25 am – Rec Leaders gather for about 5 minutes to actually
plan Rec Time!
11:30 am – Rec Time
1:00 pm – Lunch
1:30 pm – Closing Celebration!
As you can see, we’ve had a lot of fun this week “leading” Rec Time.
Ha.
On another camp note ……. Come to find out, I am apparently full of “camp” things.
Songs – cheers – games … pretty much anything and everything “campy.”
After working four summers at a Christian camp in Texas, attending countless church camps and vacation bible schools, and even going to Student Council camp … I’ve pretty much covered every “camp” base.
I actually love that I’m a “camp” person … others, however, just think I’m kind of weird.
Terrible shame.
(I personally think that they’re just jealous because I have all the good cheers

Either way, I would love to share my wealth of resources with you.
At least the stuff I can remember.
