Oh, Nepal.  I like you, a lot.  πŸ™‚

Before I go discussing the particulars of ministry, I thought I’d share the recent change regarding teams.

At our last debrief our whole squad had some changes…new team leaders, a new squad leader, and some rearrangements.

All of our team was split, so Team Monarch is no more.  It was a good 8 months, but I think we were all ready for some change.

As they announced new teams, I was placed on…….(drum roll)…….

AN ALL GIRLS TEAM!!!!  πŸ™‚

Meet Team Summit – the great gals I get to live life with for the last three months of the race.  πŸ™‚

By clicking on their names below you can read their stories and follow their journey, too.  And I strongly encourage you to stalk their blogs!  πŸ™‚  They are some really great gals, and I was just tickled pink when they announced that I would be on their team. So, meet the girls!

Ministryyyyyy!

This month my team and Team G-Unit (another [fabulous] all-girls team) have been placed in Kathmandu, Nepal, and we’ve been helping with Churches Network Nepal.  Reuben Rai is our contact, and we’ve been assisting him with a Bible School and his other ministries here in Nepal.

The students from the Bible School range in age – 15 to 40, and they’re all from various parts of Nepal.  All of them attend the school in hopes of going back to their villages to spread the Gospel and start up ministries.

Our two teams help with teaching computer related courses and with cooking for the students.

Given the lack of my technological savvyness, I’ve been helping with the cooking!

Mary and Shanti are the two wonderful women I get to help once a day, and we’ve had some ridiculously fun times in the kitchen.

There has been a lot of peeling and chopping of potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, chillis, eggplant, onions, cucumbers, and other unfamiliar vegetables.

There’s also been lots of dancing and singing.  πŸ™‚

Given ministry itself doesn’t last very long for the day, I’ve had some much needed rest this month after a draining month in India.  I’ve also had lots of great girl time that has been refreshing and encouraging.  Lots of good convos, singing, dancing, Monopoly Deal, running, and runs to the market place.

Heading to Thamel

After the students’ month in Bible School, they had a graduation ceremony, and we traveled to a small village near the Tibetan border for a conference.  We had some great times with the students – worshiping, hanging out, hiking through the mountains, having baptisms in the nearby river, and ending the conference with a late night dance party/bonfire. (Another awesome thing about Nepalese people – they like to dance!!!)

I will greatly miss these students and life in Nepal when we leave in a week.  It is absolutely beautiful here, and the same can be said of the people and culture.
