I am currently sitting in the Miami airport waiting for our flight out to the Dominican Republic – our first country! The past two days have been a whirlwind of emotions. My heart was still with my family and friends in Illinois when I first arrived in Florida, but things have gotten better over the past few days. We’ve really focused on transitioning from everything we’ve left behind into everything we’re heading into. It’s truly been a joy to be with my squad and teammates again, too!
Our first month of ministry is going to be difficult and wonderful all at once! Haha! We will be backpacking to remote moutainous villages for a couple of days and then returning to Padre Las Casas (I believe) for some down time. There will be lots of hiking, sweating, squatting (for you know what), and loathing ourselves for bringing so much stuff! We won’t have much internet access for the next few weeks, so don’t be too surprised if I don’t post for a while. Keep us in your prayers, though, for much of our ministry will be dealing with idolatry.
Until we leave, we’ve been enjoying our “last [American] supper.” Wendy’s. Yum! Here’s to a year of eating “interesting” food! 🙂

Thank you SO MUCH for reading and your love and support! I can’t do this without y’all! 🙂 Peace and blessings!
