“She’s Leaving Home” is a Lennon–McCartney song, released in 1967 on the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. (I ‘Imagine’ all blog post will have a Beatles theme for a title, as well as many hyperlinks throughout the text, so be sure to click on the underlined text)
Here I am! (Rock you like a hurricane?) (actually, perhaps I shouldn’t say that now that I’ve left NY and entered a hurricane-exposed country. Eeesh). Anyway, here is my first (ever) blog (and now 2nd because I wrote this in January but couldn’t post till now). This will likely be more surface-level and superficial in order to convey facts and get the ball rolling. I hope it also knocks out some of my blog-virgin, perfectionistic-expectations for highly-engaging, deeply-moving content. If I had to guess, the contemplative reflections of the universe, Maslow’s Heirarchy of Needs chats, or overly-introspective allegory and spiritual metaphors will start to pour out around month 4 or 5 (coincidentally… due to delay in posting, we’re leaving for month 4 on Monday now, so I better start getting deep). Just a guess though. I hope I don’t disappoint.
As the song title alludes, I have left ‘home.’ (on January 5th! whoops)

I don’t know that I’m going to be all that ‘home’sick as I’ve had somewhat of a nomadic nature since high school (and now in month 3, this is still true, haven’t been homesick (or even sick sick). In fact, El Salvador felt more like ‘home’ than even, say Amherst did). My view of the world has been expanding over the years, subsequently making it seem smaller and smaller. (Having a career (that’s a ‘LinkedIn link’ ha) that’s taken me all across North America on a weekly basis the last 3.5 years really helped move that vibe along). Essentially, Planet Earth feels like my ‘home’ and I’m just continually discovering new rooms or secret passageways. Other than through my love for math, I’ve never really made roots anywhere yet (which at age 27/28 probably says something psychological about me) but I haven’t felt too uneasy about it. Plus, Jesus is my ‘Home’ boy, and he tags along (or rather, leads me) on all my adventures, so I bet I’ll probably be good over the next year as I move continent to continent, circling the globe. If this trip doesn’t get me ready to settle down somewhere though, then I might need to support raise for a commercial trip to the moon next… on a mission to plant the First Christian Church of THA MOON???
…….
…….
Eh? Nah, I probably won’t do that….
….This decade…
…Just kidding 0:)
PS. As a sidenote to support raising, If you’ve wanted to partner with me with financial support, please do so before April 1st (Monday), as my next deadline ($11,000 total checkpoint) is due by Tuesday. Information on how to donate is on my home page 🙂 THANK YOU!
