Oh hey there! Welcome to my Blog where I’ll share a little bit about myself, my mind and my mission around the world.
A little bit about myself…. I am 27 years old (turning 28 on July 10th… I like Beatles, Raspberries, vintage video games and sugar snap peas) 0:) I hail from the tiny village of Springville, NY, where it’s usually snowing (30 miles south of Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!) and between two large ski resorts). During my 6 years of college, I lived in Brockport (near Rochester, NY) and a year in Amherst (back near Buffalo, and just commuted 2.5 hrs).
I received my Bachelors degree (Accounting, Studio Art, and Economics) and Masters degree (Forensic Accounting) from the University of Brockport, finishing in 2010. I spent June 2010 studying for and taking my CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) exams, as well as finishing my last CPA (Certified Public Accounting) Exam (which took a good 1.5 years of my social life), before taking a 3 week backpacking trip across Costa Rica/Panama with some friends. Upon my return, I immediately embarked on my career as a Field Examiner across North America for a CPA firm based out of Buffalo (Dopkins & Company, CPAs and Consultants), where I helped rich people sleep better at night, fighting fraud and easing concerns.
I LOVE sports (made varsity in everything my high school offered, except swimming. I don’t like swimming), cooking/baking (fondant cakes), camping/outdoors/water, traveling, art, foreign food, saving money in creative ways, thinking… a lot, staying awake, and of course, The Beatles (as my fellow squadmates realized just by the clothing and accessories I brought on the race).
I’m jazzed to spend this year of my life Loving on and with my squad & many various people around the world. God has shown me so much about His vision and myself on trips I have been on before, so I cannot wait to see what He has in store for everyone in 2014.
Hebrews 12:1-3(NIV)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance THE RACE marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
