I heard Louis Giglio’s sermon: Passion, Purpose and Designer Jeans and I was moved to tears. Many of the things that I am about to say will be from that exact sermon and instead of jeans… shoes will be used. 🙂
Through this year where I have worn the same dirty things on a daily basis and where I have been completely removed from my E! News and Us Weekly’s, I have learned that one of my passions is still the entertainment/celebrity/fashion world. I have also learned that women and more so women in human trafficking have shattered my heart.
God has given me a vision of designing shoes and starting a shoes company and the money going toward women in human trafficking. Check out that blog here.
How do I make shoes in the Savior’s name? Louie says, “to love God supremely, pursue excellence and connect in a community of faith.”
“Make the best [shoes] that can possibly be made. Make the most excellent pair that can be mustered-asking God to inspire this vision, to inspire this passion to awaken some amazing creativity. Run a fair business and treat every situation and every person as if Christ were in the environment. Win them with excellence and take the moment that the vendor or sales rep or whomever is charmed by your [shoes] and ask how their life is going and how they can be prayed for. In turn, when they ask how this all got started, bring all Glory to the creator of this universe and who chose you to create those [shoes].
I have been prophesied over a couple of times that I would be sent to the darkest places to be and bring HIS LIGHT there. I just assumed the darkest places of the universe would be the places where I have unknown sisters trapped and being victims of sex slavery and selling themselves to provide for others.
The entertainment/fashion/celebrity world is a dark place as well. It is not as glamorous as people make it out to be and I have only seen a glimpse of it through my pursuit of becoming an entertainment journalist. It’s a place where false gods of money, lust and drugs are found as comfort. It’s a place of obsession. Many but not all are obsessed with their own image, outer beauty and trying to impress everyone around them besides the only one that matters. It’s a place where identity is always questioned and confused.
I have learned that there is no division between the sacred and secular world. We are all sons and daughters of God with ONE mission- TO GLORIFY GOD IN WHATEVER WE DO.
God is telling me to make shoes, to infiltrate culture to influence culture. He is sending me to the darkest of places to be HIS LIGHT.
“Invest in a group that breaks your heart (entertainment world) and an unreached group (women of the night), so that when you get to heaven and they don’t speak your language or they never wore your shoes.. They are looking for you in heaven. They found out that you were the person who sponsored the missionaries who planted the church and came to their town to preach the gospel. You were the one who provided the water. You were the one that provided the meals. You were the one that built the orphanage. You put a micro business in their town. You are the one that they are roaming the party looking for. Finally, they see you and say, ‘You’re the shoes lady? And you say ‘Yep, I’m the shoes lady.’ They come to you as an army and surround you and start rejoicing and saying, ‘Thank you for your shoes!!! Thank you for your shoes!!!! Because of your shoes, we are at this party, PRAISE GOD!’ And in that moment that is where your purpose is greater than your passion.”
This is just a glimpse of what lies ahead. I am excited and a bit scared, but it is a good kind of scared because it makes me fully dependent on him.
So in this next phase of my life I am pursuing excellence. I will be attending G42 leadership academy. It is a place where they want to ignite passion and rise up the next generation of leaders in businesses, churches and anything thought not possible but because God is a crazy God… is possible.
I will start my leadership training in January and will graduate in July. I hate support raising… and yes, I am having to support raise to attend this school. I am asking you to prayerfully consider supporting me in prayer and financially toward my kingdom dream. I have to raise a total of $6,000 that will provide for my tuition, supplies, living accommodations and all meals for the entire 6-month period. I am so thankful for everyone and their support through this year. I know that this is not an easy task but again, I know and believe that the Lord is going to do mighty and crazy things.
If you would like to donate toward my G42 account, please donate here. Donations can be made online in monthly amounts or in one-time amounts through paypal. Make sure before submitting that my name is on there somewhere. From $5 to $1,000 —any amount is greatly appreciated.
Thank you again for all your support. Know that it never goes unnoticed. I love you so much. I am fully confident that this is what the Lord is asking me to step into. I am chosen for this.
