1.17.11 Day 127

Hello friends!!!

Greetings from Africa! (This is an old blog Ifm just now able to get upcas you can see by the date at the top J

Yesterday was a packed day but wonderful!! We left the house at 6:30 am so we could go to the church and take actual showers. The water level at the house is pretty low and it would have depleted it for all of us to fill up our buckets to bathe. The church has 2 showers that we can use. So we headed there at 6:30 and then went to service the first service at 8:30. Just before service was to end we had to leave to head over to Sunshine Secondary School. Normally, we stay for the 11:30 service. Sunshine is a boarding school for some 700 high school boys! We were performing a human video to a Casting Crowns song as well as preaching. Ashley preached on the love of God. She did a great job! Towards the end of her message we did our drama and then Pastor Ezekiel gave the invitation for anyone who wanted to receive Christ and know what real love is…the love from the Father. Only about 2 of the boys raised their hands. He invited them forward and slowly, but surely, more and more came forward. Even after they had started to pray a few more walked forward.

All together 12 young men gave their lives to Christ and will be forever changed! I would like to add that it was slightly intimidating standing in front of a group that large! lol They led worship and it was awesome! I caught a lot of it on video and hope to put it in our group video at the end of the month. Their student leadership for religious activity invited us up for refreshments afterward. We were able to share testimonies of what God is teaching us as well as give the boys a word of encouragement. We werenft able to stay long because of our next activity.

**this was less than half of the group!**

We quickly rushed back to the church and ate our lunch quickly. It was now 2:00 and we were scheduled to have a Childrenfs Fun Day in one of the communities near by. When we finally reached the grounds where we were hosting the fun day there were already kids waiting! We got the bounce castle set up and the guy hired to do the face painting was already working on some awesome face paintings! After about 30 minutes of that we called all the kids over to play some games. We played several different games and the kids loved them all! We even did some songs that could get the kids moving and dancing. Pastor Ezekiel’s favorite was the Chicken Dance! lol

After the games there was a puppet show that talked about fear. Then we taught the kids 2 songs as Jenny prepared for her message about fear. Jenny did a great job and interacted well with the kids! She is a jr high teacher and not used to speaking to the 5-12 year olds lol. But she did a great job!

Several of the kids raised their hand and said they wanted Jesus in the heart! We ended the fun day with more face painting and a more bounce castle fun!

Much love from Kenya!!
