Hello friends!
I pray that all is well on your side of the world π Our time here in Malaysia has been wonderful! I absolutely loved being in the jungle. I’m not even sure how to begin to describe all that’s transcribed over the last 2 weeks.
The women in the village are so hungry to hear and know the Word of God. Saturday was our last day of teaching and farming. This was one of the days I was chosen to go and farm, but as we were leaving some of the mothers of the children who come to school showed up because they wanted hear a Bible story. They have very few Bibles in the village. The problem with the ones they do have is that they are Malaysian Bibles. They do not have a Bible in the language that they speak. Not even one! I’m pretty sure I have at least 4 Bibles of my very own in the language that I speak. Please be praying for this village that they may one day have a Bible in their language. Gina told the story of Hannah and how she longed for a child and how God heard her cries. They had so many questions afterwards! They wanted to know why Jesus would die for us. How do you raise your children to serve the Lord and many others! The women all wanted to come back later that evening so we decided to show them a movie. We set up 4 of our laptops all the way across the stage and plugged in one of them to their sound system (very happy that I brought the cord that does that π We showed them The Passion of the Christ. Our translator, Pastor Lee (he’s Chinese lol) had the movie. Nobody, including ourselves, could understand any of the words but it still got the point across π
The next morning Aimee brought the Word to the congregation. She spoke about the worth we have in Christ and how much He desires to dwell in us and just live life with us! It was a great word. We were supposed to head out just after church dismissed but their were problems with the tractor and it needed to be welded or something. We ended up not leaving until 8 pm! The events that happened between that time was wonderful. We got invited to go and eat lunch at one of the houses just down the road. We had actually just eaten a rather large lunch and not the slightest bit hungry. We went anyhow π They served us another huge lunch! My stomach was seriously about to burst lol. After our meal Andrew continued reading out of Samuel and spoke to the ladies about hearing the voice of God and even though they didn’t have a written Bible to read God still speaks to them. God gave us the gift of the Holy Spirt π
After the mini lesson, the women handed out hand made baskets to us! They are amazing little baskets. They actually only got 4 of them made so they picked out four of us to receive them. I got the last one π It straps onto your back like a small backpack. They fit our water bottles π
The ladies felt bad that they only had 4 of them and there were 8 of us. 3 of the ladies went home and brought some of their own baskets. It was so heartwarming to see that. These ladies were so proud to be able to give their own baskets. That still left Aimee without a basket. They decide to hand make hers while we were there! It was really neat to see and only took about 30 minutes to make. These ladies are incredible. One of the ladies (Dianne) we prayed for the week before. She had some issues with her stomach after they took her appendix out and it was very painful for her. We prayed several different days for her and it was all healed! God healed her and we got to tell her that He was the one who did it! She brought us ladies some earrings just as we were getting on the tractor to leave. She cried as she handed them to us and hugged us. I didn’t want to leave.
Much love from Malaysia π
