Everything inside of me is screaming out in a battle of fear and trust. In a battle of normalcy and the extraordinary. A battle of debt and slavery against freedom and sonship. A battle of the here and now, and the things to come. In the thick of the battle line I wage war against the lies, fighting to keep my head above water with the only weapon that will do it…. Trust and Faith. Faith for what? Trust for what? I hardly know. But I know the one in whom I trust and He is faithful. As I put my trust in things unseen and my hope in things I know not of, I feel my shoulders rise out of the bitter waters. Then my arms, and my knees, till I’m standing again…. Eyes fixed on my savior who calls to me through the waves.
This song (below) is on repeat in my heart. God take me out upon the waters! To the places where feet may fail. I cannot bear the rocking of this boat any longer. But I know I cannot step out into the waves without your call. Though the rain drops fall and the wind howl, may your whisper be heard like a roar in my spirit. Like a runner at the starting line, poised to respond to the ‘bang’ of the gun, so may I be ready to respond to your voice.
My feet may fail. But my God never will. I am not afraid, though fear surrounds me. I will go, though my feet may fail. His grace abounds in deepest waters.
What are the waters He calls you out onto? What are the waves in your life today? What is the wind and rain distracting you from hearing His voice? Father, quiet the sounds of the storm around my friend so they can hear you… strengthen their legs to step out upon the waters… where feet may fail…but You never will.
You called me out upon the waters . the great unknown where feet may fail and there I find you in the mystery in oceans deep my faith will stand and I will call upon your name and keep my eyes above the waves when oceans rise my soul will rest in your embrace for I am yours and you are mine. When grace abounds in deepest waters your sovereign hand will be my guide. My feet may fail when fear surrounds me you’ve never failed and you won’t start now. So I will call upon your name. and keep my eyes above the waves when oceans rise my soul will rest in your embrace for I am yours and you are mine. Spirit lead me where my trust is without boarders let me walk up on the waters wherever you would call me take me deeper than my feel could ever wonder that my faith would be made stronger in the presence of my savior spirit lead me where my trust is without boarders let me walk upon the waters wherever you would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wonder and my faith would be made stronger in the presence of my savior. Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders let me walk upon the waters wherever you would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wonder and my faith would be made stronger in the presence of my savior. (Hillsong United, Where Feet May Fail, Oceans).
