Intentionality…the word of the month.  The word that the Lord began speaking to me even before I arrived at this place that feels like home (add Asian people).  This word that brings so much freedom and means that relationship is given top priority.

So, I bucked up against my loathing for technology, and put my iPod Calendar into full swing.  The results so far have been life giving!  When my calendar meets my easy-going nature, it leaves so much room for the Holy Spirit to take over.  I make choices about what I feel the Lord wants me to prioritize and how I can get that done, but He has full reign to move things around as needed.  This means I am ready for the day with purpose, having high expectancy of what the day will bring, but cherishing even the ‘missed’ appointments that leave me with free time to dive in with Jesus, or have a chance encounter.

That’s what I love about God.  He has a plan for every moment.  He is intentional in all he does and says.  Things don’t happen ‘by chance’ or ‘by accident’ to God, nor does time escape Him.  The Bible describes many people who are constantly looking only to God, and taking their every move and word from Him directly:

  • The 4 living creatures (cherubim)…”Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went” (Ezekial 1:12)
  • Holy Spirit… “ He will not speak on his own, he will speak only what he hears” (John 16:13)
  • Jesus…

    • “I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me…for I always do what pleases Him.” (John 8:28-29).
    • “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” (John 12:49).
    • “For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.” (John 3:34)
  • Disciples… “At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” (Matthew 10: 19-20).

This is what I missed most about my life back home.  Not that I haven’t been looking to the Lord in the details of the day, but I have been ‘going with the flow’ of what was handed to me as opposed to being intentional for myself.  Intentional…this is my Thai Life :0)

I want to be an intentional girl, looking to an intentional God, and living life on purpose :0)

How can you be intentional in your life right now?  What needs to happen in your life for you to keep your eyes always on our King, saying what He tells you to say….doing what He tells you to do?  I would love to hear stories of how our intentional God uses you as you step into intentional moments :0)
