We were invited to join the Garbage Dump district for their Christmas party and asked to bring something for 300 people.  Our pastor knows the dilemma we face in being viewed as ATM’s and clarified that if we could not bring anything at all, were we still invited.  We were.  I will talk more about our financial dilemma in another post. We decided if we were going to join, we should bring something, so we brought 300 sweet rolls.

A few days ago, while we were worshiping and singing a song about God shaking the ground, I saw a vision of the dumpsite.  I saw the earth quake and large bugs crawling up out of it.  The bugs were Spiritual Attachments.  The Lord was showing me that the people here are affected by the spiritual attachments clinging to the trash brought here.  Spiritual Attachments that cling to and infect the people living here.
Upon arrival, we noticed that many of the children were dressed up.  Our hearts were sad to see them dressed like prostitutes, wearing bright makeup, short shorts and skirts, high heels, and knee high boots.  My heart was full of the love of the Father, wanting to wrap these precious, beloved girls in the love of the King, and show them where their true beauty lies.

Next, we were brought to the compost building where the party was being held.  They have a shed where they ‘start’ the compost, and then they transport the pre-filtered dirt (with plastic scraps and other non-compostable material) to the building in order to prepare it for sale.  At the far end of the room, amid piles of dirt, sat a small table with 2 bowls or rice, a bowl of noodles, 1 small chicken,  2 other small bowls of some kind of meat, and a few crates of Pepsi. Nowhere near enough for 300 people.

In true Pilipino tradition, the honored guests were served first.  That included us, and the Barabngay officials.  We took as little food as we could respectfully get away with, and watched the officials pile their plates high.  Then after we were finished, they sent in the children to finish what was left (not much).  The other adults did not eat.
