I love the sound of the waves, the cool breeze under the blazing sun, the sand between my toes, and the great power and force in the crack of each wave

I also love the smell of the rain, a gray-blue sky, the peel of thunder, and the tracing lightening.

On Tuesday, I got both :0)

I brought my Bible and journal, planning to think deeply and formulate some meaningful blog as a result of my time at the beach. I planned to make a final list of all the things I need to buy and do before I leave in just 2 weeks and mentally prepare for departure. But that’s not what happened :0) Instead, the sound of the waves drowned out every deep thought before it took root, and the breeze blew away every care in the world. Instead of deep thought and planning, there was just peace and rest.

Even now, as I try and recount the day, my mind is full of vivid sensory memories, like when the lifeguards packed up, the vacationers headed back to wherever  they came from, and I parked my chair in the swelling surf as the tide crept in. I spent 45 minutes counting the bubbles left in the receding surf, trying to dig down and catch a sand crab to no avail.

We were at Point Pleasant along the NJ shore, and walked from one end of the boardwalk to the other. At the far end, there is a massive jetty opening to a canal that leads to a bay. Lining the canal are massive black boulders with deep crevices leading down to the crashing surf. As we walked along, hopping from stone to stone, I was filled with a sense of adventure and wonder about all the places this years journey would take me!

I have been pondering on Paul’s Missionary Journeys lately…. more on that to come …

I can’t wait to share with you as Michelle’s Missionary Journeys unfold :0)!   Thank you for taking this journey with me! I can’t do it without you :0)

PS- I’m finishing off a bag of blue cotton candy as we speak :0)
