Its Wednesday, and the gravity of what took place on Sunday night at the Sock Hop has still not fully sunk in. With our itinerary out the window, and more obstacles than I can count, the Sock Hop still exceeded all my expectations! I am most excited to hear people rave “This is the best party we have ever been to!”. One of my concerns about the event was wanting to be sure people did not feel like the night was about money, and yet, wanting to give people the chance to be a part of what God is doing through The World Race. If you know me, I choose people over finance ALL DAY and to hear that people had a wonderful time is the greatest success of all.
I had heard other Racers share about their fundraising experiences and about how quickly their fundraising seemed to be going. I just figured that was not what the Lord was going to do in my life, and was OK with that. At the start of the night, I was really hoping for another $200 total, only to be blown away by the $910 PLUS that was raised! People not only gave generously, but many have pledged to continue giving! I truly cannot go alone! There was a point in the night, when Michelle H. asked those who agreed to support me to raise their hands. The immediate response was overwhelming! To see so many hands shoot up….blew my mind! Not because this journey has anything to do with me, but because of all the people they can choose to partner and send, you all are sending Me! What a privilege! What an honor! Thank You!
I would be remiss not to thank some very important volunteers who made this event possible.
Michelle Holder-This was your brain child! Thank you for putting your whole heart, and lots of hours of planning and preparation into this incredible evening! Without you, this would never have been possible! Thank you for believing me, and supporting me, and sending me to the nations on your behalf!
Amanda Snead-Thank you for devoting your busy weekend to seeing this though and for being such an awesome Vanna White of cake walks and auctions and being the best dance instructor ever! Thank you Brad for ‘manning the helm’ so Amanda could be ‘all in’ and thank you both for your tireless love and support through the years. Thank you for loving me at my best, and at my worst.
Zimmer family – thank you for letting us use the clubhouse and for being a part of this special day.
Aleah – thank you for all your help in planning and prep
Roger – thanks for being the best MC ever and for keeping the ‘Fonz’ cool going all night.

Bobby – thank you so much for taking care of all our media needs! You are awesome. Your servants heart was such a blessing and we could not have done it without you!
Josh & Jen – thank you for fearlessly manning the icecream station! What a blessing!
Robin – thanks for your help with the welcome table. It was great to have your smiling face at the door.
Jeremy – thanks for jumping in with the cake walk, and sound, and clean-up
Thank you to everyone who brought cakes/desserts-what fun!
Thank you to everyone else who jumped in and helped with chairs and clean-up and all kinds of other important tasks. You all worked so hard to make the event a success .
Special thanks to our generous sponsors: Mardels (thank you for the amazing pictures), CPO (gift card), Redeemed (gift card), Jessicas Mom who donated 12 Branson show tickets, orange leaf/fruityland (gift cards) and Hy-Vee who donated a $50 gift card that I didn’t get the message about till it was too late and I will raffle it at the next Cherry Berry fundraiser :0)
Thank you of course to everyone who donated and pledged to keep giving!
Every life that is touch along the way is being touched by you! Every heart that is changed by the Gospel was because of your generous sacrifice. It is the Lord who touches and changes, but in His design, he chose to use us….me & you…. To partner with Him and bring Hope to the nations!
Thank You!!
