The song is more than words on a page….. it’s a tune, etched in my heart.
I awoke with this song buried deep into my spirit, a surprising counterpart to the dream I had….
I was in a play… but we had no practice before hand. I had no script to read, and no costume set out. Each person was supposed to develop their own character, but I was having a hard time figuring out where my character would fit into the big picture. I was asking people about their roles, and what they planned to do, but no one really knew any more than I did. At this point, the play is almost over, and I still had not stepped on stage. What if I threw everything off…. I don’t know what the play is about, so how can I just jump in and make any sense… what if I get out there and I am a distraction and an interruption….. worse yet—- what if the play ENDS before I get out there? Next thing I know (as dreams go), I was a homeless bag lady, curled up under a set of stairs, with my back to the audience, in the dark. Then I woke up, and had this song in my spirit….
“Don’t you know that I have a plan for you? Don’t you know that I have a purpose?”

Have you ever had Stage Freight for life? Where the ‘What if’s keep you from taking the stage? We fail to realize how VITAL our role is! The audience, and perhaps more importantly, the other actors….NEED us out there! They don’t need us to stay back in the dressing room and prepare for the role….. they need us out there BEING the role…. NOW! Don’t undermine yourself and tuck yourself away in a dark corner of the stage! Get out there and shine! Shine with the light and love of Christ! You are not too insignificant, or too inexperienced, or too clueless…. Or whatever lie is pounding through your head. You are exactly who you were created to be, and you have what you need in order to fill the role God has called you to fill, and best news of all…. You serve a God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ever ask or think! None of it is a surprise to the Lord. He will call your cues, and feed you your lines, and robe you in His righteousness…. JUST GET OUT THERE!

Lord, help my friend and I to know you and trust you so deeply, that we can fearlessly grace the stage of life with confidence….knowing that you will be directing our every move, every step, every word. You are Holy and there is none like You oh Lord! You are Good and you do Good. We can trust you! Help us stop trying to trust in ourselves and trying to figure it all out on our own. We look to You! We fix our eyes on You!
