This World Has Nothing For Me! The words resounded over and over and over as a love song to the Lord. There is nothing this world has to offer that can ever compare with the goodness of God and the pleasure of being in His presence. I can be tired, hungry, cold…but in His presence and when I know I am being directed by Him…..this world has nothing for me.
I’m about to sell everything I own and follow God where He is calling me to go. This World has nothing for me! I may uncomfortable along the way. This World has nothing for me!
• When I am doing great financially………………………………………….. this world has nothing for me.
• When I don’t know where my next meal will come from ……………….… this world has nothing for me.
• When I don’t have a friend in the world ………………………………..….. this world has nothing for me.
• When I am surrounded and loved ………………………………………… this world has nothing for me.
• When I am well rested and full of energy ………………………………… this world has nothing for me.
• When I am just plain tired ………………………………………………….. this world has nothing for me.
• When I can see clearly the path ahead ………………………………..…. this world has nothing for me.
• When I have no idea what is next …………………………………………. this world has nothing for me.
• When my grief has overtaken ………………………………………………. this world has nothing for me.
• When my joy is overflowing ………………………………………………….. this world has nothing for me.
All things pale in the Light of His Glory! Nothing else matters but the Light of His Face! No matter where you find yourself as you read this dear friend…..remember that nothing else matters but to seek His face. This world has nothing to offer that can ever compare.
I have a friend who is looking at this truth in a difficult way. A few years ago, the Lord prompted her and her husband to go all in on a business venture He stirred them toward. Their ‘new home’ fund….their savings…..ALL in! It opened unimaginable doors. But now, they are facing the tough question…..”Will you leave it all for Me?” The Lord is causing them to wrestle with the prospect of using one of the open doors created by this business, to leave it all behind (savings and all) and move in a new direction. This world has nothing for them! Not even a dream home can compare to their heavenly home.
Will you leave it all for Him…..no matter what ‘it all’ means for your life? It could be a job, a status, a car, a house, a town, or even….a frame of mind. When the time comes that the Lord challenges your heart with this question…..remember that this world has nothing for you!
The people I will meet on the World Race know all too well what this world does and does not have to offer. They may have left home to find work only to be trafficked against their will. They may be sleeping in a tin shack with no shoes and little food. They may be faithful followers of Islam or Buddha. They may be wealthy business owners who could buy anything they ever wanted. But they all know that anything the world has to offer has left them feeling empty and in need of a savior. There is only one savior….Jesus Christ. I get to tell them about this good news! Its true…this life has nothing for them….but in His presence….nothing else matters! When they accept the Gospel of life…..nothing else matters!
On Your Race…..will you be there to lovingly point the way to our Savior as those around you are crushed by the blow that this world has nothing for them. Will you tell them that its true……but that’s not the whole story!
