Pressure! Thats how I would describe my feelings at the moment :0) I was supposed to have my support letters written a few weeks ago but I am really struggling. I want it to be 'just right'. How can I convey my heart, the call of God, tell where I am going, and inspire people to want to take part…..all in 1 page or less! I dont know for sure where these letters will find people….will they be struggling and need encouragement….will they be having a great day and feel on top of the world…..have they just received some awful news that makes the plight of the world seem insignificant at that moment……are they feeling a call of God and navigating the phases of getting on board with what God is doing….. ? How can I be sure and reach them all with the same few paragraphs? Lord…..you have to do this….for I can not! I can not meet my friends where they are in the moment they unwrap this precious letter. I can not anticipate what words will make them most receptive to something you might be asking them to do to get involved.
This step before me today…..to get it done….feels like so much pressure apart from Christ.
Have you had a time in your life when something that needed done felt like a lot of pressure? Like the weight and importance of the task was more than you could bear? Maybe you are feeling that way now.
But he is the author and the finisher of our faith. Lord….will You author this letter too? Will Your Holy Spirit make up the difference between the words on the page and the needs of the heart who read it? Lord….I know I can trust You! I trust that the support I need to raise is not about me….its about You….and where You call us to go……You always provide. Help me to cast off the heavy burden and take on Your burden…..which is easy and light. Your ways are greater than my ways and Your thoughts are higher than mine!
Will you pray with me for these support letters? That God would use them accordinig to His plans and purposes and help me to lay asside my own expectations of them.
If you are feeling the 'pressure' in your life today……join with me and cast your cares on Him! Do your best ….. and trust Him with the rest! He has set this task before you (whatever it is) and He knows the outcome. He cares for the souls of every person who will be impacted by your task. He will help you!
