So it’s been almost three months since training camp and Z squad is in Atlanta, together again, preparing to start this journey.

Things are becoming so much more real. Teams our bonding, ministry hosts are being contacted, WR-like budgets are being adhered to as practice for the real thing, and future lodgings and ministries are being Googled for additional information. We’re starting to get a much more realistic glimpse of what life is going to be like for us on the race.

This could be a scary, and alarming, and nerve-wracking time for us. And there is a small degree of that going around. But what I’ve mostly seen in my teammates and squadmates is an overwhelming desire to get started on the work that God has called us to. After months of preparation, tearful goodbyes, and lots of training, it seems the only thing left to do is…go.

So we’ll be leaving tomorrow to begin our journey. We will fly to Detroit, and then Amsterdam, and then Kenya, and then Zambia, and then it’s a long bus ride out to Livingstone, Zambia, where we will begin partnering with our ministry.

Please pray for our safe travels and for hearts full of excitement and desire rather than anxiety or fear.

Next time I post I will be in Zambia!!!
