I have the feeling I might write a few blogs with this title through this experience. Here's the first.

I got my first official donation this week. It was very exciting. And what the Lord has shown me even in just a few weeks of fundraising is how incredibly blessed I am. Here are just some of the few things I have to be thankful for right now.

-I got my first donation and it was from a coworker who I don’t even see outside of work. She was very touched by my fund letter and is really excited for me.

-I received a Facebook message from my college small group leader and his wife who I haven’t seen in over three years that they sent in their donation.

-My roommate is throwing a “Dinner and a Movie” party to fundraise for my trip.

-My entire small group is helping with the “dinner” portion of the party and are making soups and bringing plates and things. At our last meeting they were all asking about the different ways they could give, and they’ve been praying for me continually.

-My friend who is getting married soon and has so much to think about is looking into her church possibly doing a special offering for me.

-My mother, who is a little iffy about me going on the trip, is continuously checking with me to make sure that I’ve reached out to everyone I possibly can. She keeps thinking of different people to remind me of.

-My father, who is even iffier about me going on the trip, bought me my pack.

I feel so blessed by all of these things that I can’t even describe what an appreciative heart I have right now. And I am just so grateful to the Lord for providing and for showing me just how much he loves me and wants me to go on this journey.

So although fundraising is hard, this is why it’s also kind of amazing.
