Haiti has been quite the month. Sitting here, we only have 4 days left until we leave for Costa Rica. Its so crazy that we are almost done with month 2.

We have been so blessed to be here at Mission of Hope (MoH) in Titanyen, Haiti. The name Titanyen literally translates as less than nothing. Yet, they have made such a difference in this town and all the surrounding villages.

There are so many facets of this ministry and I love it. They work with Convoy of Hope which brings food, but they are in the process of enabling local farmers to supply that food therefore giving Haitians the responsibility. MoH also has 17 schools with great curriculum and the schools are completely run by Haitians. They have a medical clinic which see’s over a 100 patients a day. They are working on funding for an Operating Room, and they also do mobile clinics to the local villages Monday through Thursday. There is an orphanage here on campus which houses 61 kids. Its amazing. I love it.

While here, our squad has been helping MoH catch up on tasks that get forgotten or just put off due to lack of man power. We have painted almost every building in the orphanage, inside and out. All the kids are thrilled to have new colors. 🙂 We also cut grass with machete’s to help reduce the amount of mosquito’s present. We’ve gone to their North Campus to help lay concrete for the foundation to a cafeteria for a new elderly home they want to open soon. We covered a water pipeline trench with dirt. Some have helped with the tin roof at the new Tech School. We’ve painted bathrooms in the guest house. We have even gotten to help the staff members do random tasks, like putting up lights outdoors, or arranging a garden that got eaten by the goats.

Its been a great month of ministry. We are so blessed to have such great hosts. When we arrived the staff here said they love it when world race teams come because they can just catch their breath. I am so thankful we’ve gotten to help them play catch up, and give the campus a facelift in the process.

God is moving here and I love that I’ve gotten to be a part of it.
