This month, theres a mountain in our backyard. I hiked it and it took about four hours. It took so long because I was constantly in awe of the view and stopped to take it in over and over again.
The fluffy clouds that were floating away from me and the perfect shade of blue that covered the sky put a smile on my face. The majestic mountains that made me feel so small and the villages miles away made this world seem so vast.
But yet, God knows me, He created me, and He delights in me.
We went to Macedonia to Lake Ohrid and I was blown away at Gods creation there too. This beautiful, crystal clear lake was created by the same God that created me. Lake Ohrid is so big you can’t see the other side of it, and it is outlined with mountains. You can look down 20 feet and see all the little fishies swimming by. Looking out across it you see more shades of blue than Crayola has even named.
But yet, God knows me, He created me, and He delights in me.
Watching the sun hide behind the mountains every night while it casts out vibrant colors of all sorts catches all my attention for at least twenty minutes. The different streaks of reds and yellows and oranges that changes by the second can’t be described and pictures don’t even do it justice.
But yet, God knows me, He created me, and He delights in me.
The same God that created these extravagant views for us to enjoy, delights in you and I more than all of these scenes he’s created. He knows every single idea you’re thinking and every sorrow you’ve ever felt. He knows your biggest hopes and dreams. He knows every detail about your life and he has every second of the rest of your life planned out. The God who created the universe loves you deeply. Yeah, He created these huge mountains and great lakes, but He cares more about you and the finite details in your world. He created you, He delights in you, and He loves you.
I invite you to be blown away by His beauty too. Just sit and take it all in. It’s bound to take your breath away.
