Dang, women are awesome. We have the ability to build each other up or completely destroy others. Most of us have been through high school, and we know how women can sway the whole crowd. We’re manipulative, we’re determined, and we make a huge impact wherever we are.
So I grew up having more guy friends than girl friends. I was one of those people stereotyping females and calling them emotional and crazy. I had the mindset that women are too much and full of drama. It’s true, we are emotional and crazy, but God gifted us with those amazing traits to be used in a good way. However, it wasn’t until a few months ago that I realized how proud I should be to be a female. We are gifted with some pretty amazing qualities and play an important role in society.
At training camp the men went on a hike, so the ladies had the whole day to ourselves. This is when my own opinion of women got completely rocked. The speaker was listing the traits of women. We’re manipulative, persuasive, and emotional but dang, how awesome is that?! We have these abilities to further His kingdom. We can see when people are struggling. We realize how to change people’s perspectives and persuade them into doing what we want them to. We have the natural ability to comfort others and encourage them. We’re bold and courageous but we are also able to grieve with those having a hard time. God gifted us with these things to be used for good. Too often I feel like we take advantage of these traits and tear each other down, but what if we didn’t? What if as women, we came together and used these God-given traits to better everyone around us? If women united together and embraced the fact that we are manipulative, persuasive, and emotional, how crazy powerful would that be?!? We would be more influential than anything even imaginable. If every single woman used each of these qualities for good, how uplifted would we all be?! How much kingdom would we bring through embracing our God-given qualities?!
Wow. Women are impressive. It blows me away to think about how much more powerful we’d be if we came together and encouraged each other in it. I still remember sitting in this thought, and every now and then I come back to dwell in it some more. I can just picture us all in complete unity spreading the Word of God faster than a vigorous wildfire. We’d be infecting everyone we came across with this joy and peace that we have from God. We’d be loving those who needed comforting and doing life with all of our neighbors. Every single person we encounter would want to be apart of this movement because it is so incredible. Every woman apart of this family would be supported, loved, and completely uplifted. We have the ability to create this community. We can form this close knit family where everyone is accepted for who they are. God gifted us with these incredible attributes and since that day at training camp, I’m proud to be a female that is emotional and crazy.
A few days later I went to the Beauty for Ashes session to learn more about it, and I was completely set on fire. God stirred something in me and lit this fuze that I was not expecting. It just clicked. Women’s ministry is my passion. Whaat?! That feels weird admitting still, but it’s so true. Women should be proud to be women. God created us as these awesome creatures and gifted us with things specifically because we are females. Dang. God knew what he was doing and he crushed it.
With all that being said, it’s been amazing watching God work. The women’s retreats a few weeks ago went so well and God was definitely there. Women shared things they’ve never said out loud before, healing came in the form of tears, and arms were raised surrendering ourself to our Heavenly Father.
A few of us planned and carried out the retreats. I’m so grateful for each and every one of the women who lead alongside me and helped put it all on. Other amazing people financially donated and made it possible for us to eat and make the place welcoming and cozy. Prayer warriors were also donating their time to what was about to happen. We couldn’t have pulled off these two women’s retreats if it wasn’t for all of you who played a part in it, so thank you a ton!!! It was a huge success and and a wonderful thing to be apart of.
Now, let’s go out, unite, and be apart of the biggest movement this world has ever seen. Let’s take pride in being women and use our attributes to bring kingdom.
There are some snapshots of the two retreats below!
Ministry update: We are in Malaysia!!! We’re volunteering at a place called Dignity for Children. It is a place that educates the poor. A lot of them are refugees or live in the slums. Dignity believes in educated the children to end the cycle of poverty. The students attend this montessori school and they are also required to learn different skills. The skills include working at a coffee shop, gardening, cutting hair, sewing, and wood working. This month, my ministry is at the coffee shop which is called Project B. I get to serve customers that come in, make coffee (WOO HOOO), and ultimately get to know the students that work here. I also help hand out meals to the families. This month is there break from school so it puts more pressure on the families to provide for their kids. They are now responsible for two extra meals each day, and they usually can’t make ends meet. Sponsors donated money, Dignity got the food, and we go and gift the family with rice, oil, chicken, and milo. It’s a pretty amazing place and I encourage you to look it up. President Obama was also here about a year ago!
Y’all just got some snow, embrace it for me. This year I’ll be celebrating Christmas in a pool which is super weird to me.
Love y’all!
