We cried, we laughed, we screamed, we danced, we sang, and we felt all the feels. The 10 days I spent in Georgia at the World Race Training Camp were incredible to say the least. From sleeping in tents to taking bucket showers to getting to know almost 50 people all at the same time, it has stretched me in all the best ways. I understand now more than ever why God has called me to this mission, to find out more about what it means to love people and live in community and to share what I’ve found with the world. He is teaching me so much about myself and other people. Here are 10 things I learned from this amazing experience:

1. Lead with vulnerability. It breaks down walls and opens the door for people to be their true self.

2. Sometimes you are not called to be in a particular “position” on a team or in life in general, you are just called to be you exactly where you are.

3. We are still beautiful without make-up and running water.

4. Being uncomfortable has more pros than cons. Nothing great ever happened inside comfort zones.

5. You can find part of yourself in every persons story.

6. Live FROM the grace of God, not FOR it.

7. Breakfast food is not necessarily “breakfast food” is other areas of the world. Your stomach will be confused. 🙂

8. Use every opportunity as an opportunity to spread love and minister to people, even when you’re trying to buy food in the crazy African markets.

9. Living in community means that your stuff is everyone’s stuff. Sharing really is caring, both materially and emotionally.

10. Remember you are a beloved child of the King, not just a servant.

WOW Y’ALL. $10,000! Praise Jesus & God bless all of you. THANK YOU SO MUCH! It is so encouraging to see how God is using you to support this mission. It means the world to me to have people who are supporting me financially, praying for me and giving me words of encouragement. We met the second goal an entire month early and I’m officially secured to set out on this journey in September!!! (jumping for joy as I write this) Seriously, I couldn’t do it without y’all. Continued to keep up with my journey by subscribing to my blog. I have been slacking on posts lately, life’s been busy so sorry about that. If you want to chat and have questions about my trip, please e-mail me at [email protected]. I’d love to tell you all about it and if you’re in the South Florida area, let’s grab coffee!

Again, THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH! I travel to Atlanta September 6th for launch and will spend a couple days there preparing before getting on a plane for COSTA RICA! 6 WEEKS OMG. My next goal is $16,267 by December 31st. Jesus is real y’all and amazing wonders are going to happen through this mission trip.

“…but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”  Philippians 3:13-14
