Hmmm… where to start?

When asked to write an “About me” in elementary school I would have written something as simple as “My favorite color is blue, I like cats, and I like Saturday morning cartoons.” And although all of those things are still true (except the cartoons… they just aren’t the same anymore) its gotten a little more complex, there’s a lot more to my story now.

I’ll start with the basics. I was born & raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am the oldest of three. I have a younger brother and sister, they are twins! My parents are two of the strongest and most amazing people that I know. My family is one of my greatest support systems and I am so grateful for the unconditional love and compassion they have for me. I currently reside in West Palm Beach, Florida in a small tree-house-style loft where I have lived for a little over a year. I have been blessed with a wonderfully fulfilling job working for my church and also as a Administrative Assistant for a small marketing firm. I serve in the Kids Ministry and am involved in starting a Women’s Ministry at one of our church campuses. I am a daughter, sister, friend, employee, volunteer, mentor, mentee, leader, and disciple.

I grew up having many dreams, goals and passions many of which are the same today. I love art and music, being creative, and thinking outside the box. I love anything outdoors, singing (in my car), and talking with strangers because well, everyone has a story to tell. I have a weakness for a good book and a cup of coffee. I like to play volleyball, frisbee, and apples to apples. I love when it rains; I’m a glass half full kind of gal. I thoroughly enjoy time spent in community with friends and loved ones. I love good belly laughs and journaling and above all else I love Jesus.

I am someone who is happy with a thousand things to do or just one. I am someone who laughs when she falls and who would rather be silly than serious. I am someone who loves every human being and every animal. I am also someone who sometimes over thinks things, stains every white piece of clothing she owns, and doesn’t understand small talk. I am someone who would forget her keys every morning on her way out to the car if they weren’t directly in front of the door. I am someone who use to spend all her time in the past and the future, wasting away the day right in front of her. I am someone who used to feel like she never fit in. I am someone who has made the same mistakes more than once. I am someone who is not perfect

But greater than all of those, is foundation on which I stand; I am the daughter of a King. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) I am not called to be perfect, because He who was perfect died so that I wouldn’t have to be. I am not held down by the shame of my past or the bondage of my sin, I am made new in Christ. I am redeemed and set free and because of this He has called me to a purpose; to spread His good news, to be His hands and feet, to serve the least of these and to praise Him in all His glory and goodness.

My dream has always been to travel the world, to help other people, and to make a difference, if only in some small way. The Race is something I believe the Lord has called me to so that I could do exactly that, except in a BIG way…through Jesus! I am humbled and blessed for the opportunity to embark on this journey. Regardless of any fear I may have, I know God is greater. His path is the one on which I will rest and the one on which I will remain. He is my Father, Counselor, Shepherd, Prince of Peace, Lord and Savior. He does all things for my good. (Romans 8:28) I don’t know all that is to come but I know that everything that is going to be done in me and through me is all for the advancement of His kingdom and I am so excited to see how He will continue to move in my life and the lives of those around me.
